Award-winning designer Andy Wan has created a stunning residential interior design that embodies the principles of functional minimalism. Named "Sleek Silhouettes," this design offers a clean and bright abode that serves as a stylish retreat from hectic city life.

Wan drew inspiration from nature, infusing earth tones and neutral finishes to accentuate its beauty. The result is a space that exudes tranquility and harmony. To achieve a clutter-free aesthetic, walls between original rooms were knocked down to create a larger master bedroom, en suite bathroom, and two workspaces divided by a sliding door.

The living and kitchen areas feature a modest color scheme of grey, allowing vibrant and organic accents to shine. A slim, linear floor cabinet lines one side of the home, creating a natural flow into the common area.

While the interior design is neat and simple, its technological aspects are far from primitive. Wan integrated a smart home system that allows homeowners to control various devices through voice commands or their smartphones. Lighting, electric roller blinds, entertainment devices, and the audio system can all be operated with ease, providing a truly smart living experience.

Implementing the advanced smart home system posed a creative challenge for Wan, as he had to ensure it seamlessly blended with the overall design. The result is a space that not only looks sleek and minimal but also offers the convenience and efficiency of modern technology.

Completed in 2017 in Hong Kong, "Sleek Silhouettes" is a testament to Wan's ability to create functional and visually stunning spaces within limited square footage. The design has received accolades, including the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2018.
